Peter's handmade red sweater

I LOVE this adorable sweater, knitted by my Grandma (Great Grandma Jean to the kids). Isn't it precious? Will be perfect for our upcoming Oregon coast trip. And Oh how I love red!

Where'd my baby go?

Peter is now, at one week shy of 8 months...

Army crawling all over the place

Sitting up on his own from belly or back

Saying a variety of babble sounds like di, da, ma, ba

Moving things from one hand to the other to examine them from different angles... And I think he is starting to understand when he is holding something and I need him to switch hands do I can get his arm in a sleeve.

Banging on his tray with alternating hands and pointing with a finger or thumb

Drinking water from a sippy cup

Starting to crawl over and through o stacked, like our legs or the coffee table

Just tonight he started a true crawl up on his knees for a step it two

In the photo, I had left him on his back in the crib to run out for a sec, and came back to find him like this! I think he was pretty proud of himself. :)

The 8th month has been a pretty magical one for Petey. I love watching him learn and grow.

At nearly 3years old, Linnea is now...

Starting to memorize Scripture with me

Drinking out of cups with no lids (to protect her teeth) with rather messy results... She loves pouring from and stirring in her cup

Potty training... Been doing pull UPS for a while, first underwear today! She was excited about Hello Kitty and strawberry Shortcake underwear :)

Super interested in longer chapter books... We're back into Narnia and just started the second book in the Little House series

Upset about being alone. She complains about shadows in her room and has a really hard time being alone in a room, even just to wash her hands in the bathroom when we are in the kitchen. It isn't every time but she's become kind of a stinker about it. Partially I think it's manipulative, but I want to take care if there's a real fear, too. Today, however, she played happily in her room by herself for the first time in a long while. She used to do it every day before Peter was born, playing endlessly with her dolls etc. I think now that I must leave her periodically during the day to feed Peter she's decided she doesn't like individual time imposed on her!

That's all I got for now. I sure do love being mom to these sweet babes. :)

Tee hee!

Linnea sure is having fun with a little brother around. In a few years it'll be tutus and hair bows. :)

Happy Anniversary to us!

Five years! We got to celebrate with a fun and delicious dinner our at a local seafood place. Naina is in town and the kids did great with her. I don't think Peter even noticed I'd left!

Super thankful to be celebrating all God's blessings to us with this guy. And we got a wonderful view of Lake Washington to boot!

Photos are of tonight's dinner and, well, you know...

She never stands still!

Tim had to scrub her feet in the tub after a long day of playing!

Uncle Mike is here!

Linnea was really reluctant to get up on his shoulders at first, but then really liked steering with his ears!

Another great hat

It's hot out.

7/7 and 7 @ 7

Today is July 7th and Peter has 7 teeth now at seven months. It is 7 pm. Somebody stop me.

I was not one of those people who got married on 7/7/07, but I wanted to be. (The church was already booked.)

MSFT Take Your Child to Work Day

Linnea went into work with Tim yesterday morning and Petey and I followed after his nap. (Strange to be alone with him in the house for so long, btw!)

Linnea got her own "future employee" badge, which to her was probably the coolest part of it all. She had a chocolate croissant and chocolate milk for breakfast, then got to play all sorts of games. There were fire trucks and a hydroplane for upcoming Seafair festival, people in animal costumes, a band, inflatables galore, and no end to the crowds. I thought it was very sweet to see older kids there, in particular a girl who was probably 11 or 12 walking hand in hand with her dad.

Linnea got to attend a meeting with Tim and "file" a bug on some software after banging on the keyboard long enough to make it freeze (or so I hear). She was apparently very shy around all his coworkers We all had lunch in a Mexican restaurant on campus and then headed home for naptime while Daddy got in some real work. It was a blast.

Berry Trifle

Simple, delicious and festive way to end our Fourth of July celebration!

Recipe from Better Homes and Gardens online: http://www.bhg.com/recipe/pudding/berry-trifle/

(I skipped the berry sauce.)

Koster's cutest supporter

Here's a better shot of Linnea during loop two of the parade. :)

Happy Independence Day!

We all got to participate in downtown Kirkland's parade and actually made the loop twice...first in the children's parade and then walking with supporters of a candidate for Congress. I thought Linnea looked especially cute with her special t-shirt.

Today I'm thankful for the freedom to worship Jesus without fear or penalty, unlike many other believers around the world. Happy Fourth of July everyone!
